About the Japanese Wordinator

Learning Japanese is a demanding process involving patience, dedication and long conversations about food.

But it's hard to even get started until you've looked up a bunch of words and memorized them.

That's where the Japanese Wordinator can help you.

First, it has a built-in dictionary so that you can look up words on your computer or on your phone. If you're reading Japanese on the web, you'll appreciate the bookmarklet that allows you to just click on a word and have the meaning pop right up on your screen.

Then, so you don't have to keep on looking up the same words over and over again, you can let the Japanese Wordinator keep lists of words you want to remember online and help you memorize the words you've looked up.

Click Learn A Word, to make a note of the word and its meaning. If you're using the Wordinator dictionary, there's a link next to the sound of the word and each of its meanings so that you can add the word to your list in a couple of clicks.

The next step is to look back at the words you've noted down and test yourself using the computer or phone. The Wordinator will remember what you get right and what you get wrong, and will focus mercilessly on the ones you're bad at until it can drum them into your thick skull through sheer, inhuman, unforgiving mechanical persistence.

* You might like to try out kantango instead, which appears to be a lot like the Japanese Wordinator only better.
